We love our analytics of various things at Spotted Koi and knowing the total post count across all of our blogs withing a single WordPress Mu install seemed like a no brainer. So, of course, we made a plugin.
The plugin will simply go through and find each of your blogs in your database and then count the number of posts in each one. It wraps it up nicely and places it on your Dashboard like so:

Installation Instructions
- Put the file in your /wp-content/plugins/ directory
- Navigate to your plugins page through your WP-Mu admin
- Click “Activate” under the plugin name
- Go to your dashboard and enjoy a beautiful post count
Usage

This will just work, when the plugin is activated
In-Post or In-Page Post Count
Just add the tag [sk_post_count] to your post or page, we take care of showing the post count string in your post!
